Input Controls filled via Webservice Call

In a little internal project, we would like to generate several Reports on the Jasper Server with data from a webservice. So far, so easy.
The reports will need several input controls, which have to be loaded with data from the webservices as well. Jasper Server does only allow specific, predefined datasources:
The installation brings several approaches for implementing "custom datasources" with more ore less effort. Possible options I see would be implementing or fitting one of these:
- Bean datasource
- JNDI datasource
- custom datasource
But none of my first approaches make me really happy... Ideally, such a datasource should support cascading controls as well...
Does anyone have a good idea for this or even already implemented something like this?
Thanks in advance,
Thomas
